Türkiye condemns deadly attack in Jammu and Kashmir

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong condemnation following a deadly attack targeting civilians in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
In an official statement released Monday, the Ministry expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and the injuries sustained in the attack, which reportedly claimed numerous civilian lives and left many others wounded.
“We are deeply saddened to learn that many people lost their lives and many others were injured in a terrorist attack which targeted civilians in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir today (22 April),” the statement read.
The Ministry went on to denounce the violence, describing it as a “heinous attack” and reaffirmed Turkey’s principled stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
“We condemn this heinous attack. We extend our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” it added.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. The incident has sparked renewed international concern over the fragile security situation in the disputed region.
Türkiye, which has historically voiced concern over the humanitarian and political issues in Jammu and Kashmir, reiterated its solidarity with the victims and its support for peace and stability in the region. (ILKHA)
