Türkiye's Foreign Minister holds talks with Kurdish President during visit to Erbil

Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan met with Nechirvan Barzani, the president of Iraq's Kurdish Regional Government (KRG), during an official visit to the city of Erbil in northern Iraq.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry communicated this development via its official account on the platform X, previously recognized as Twitter.
“Our Minister @HakanFidan had a meeting with #IKRG (Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government) President Nechirvan Barzani in #Erbil,” the Ministry said.

Over the course of his three-day visit to Iraq, Minister Hakan Fidan participated in discussions with several pivotal figures. He engaged in dialogues with the leadership of the Iraqi Turkmen Front and prominent members of the Iraqi Turkmen community. These discussions took place at the Turkish Embassy situated in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq.
Additionally, Minister Fidan met with Falih al-Fayyadh, who heads the al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) militia. Moreover, he held talks with Nouri al-Maliki, the former Prime Minister of Iraq and a significant figure in the State of Law political coalition.
Minister Fidan's diplomatic interactions were not limited to local leaders alone. He also had productive conversations with Ammar Al-Hakim, the leader of the Hikma National Movement, and Mohammed al-Halbousi, the distinguished Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament. Furthermore, his discussions encompassed Zambry Abdul Kadir, the esteemed Foreign Minister of Malaysia.
The Turkish foreign minister's agenda extended to high-level counterparts within the Iraqi government. He engaged in talks with Fuad Hussein, his counterpart in Iraq, and held discussions with Iraq's Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, along with President Abdul Latif Rashid. Demonstrating a comprehensive approach, Minister Fidan also met with Hadi Al-Amiri, the leader of the Fatah Alliance, and Khamis al-Khanjar, the chief of the Iraqi Sovereignty Alliance.
