UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to visit Türkiye for official talks
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will pay an official visit to Ankara on October 27, 2025, at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, according to a statement from the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications.
Presidency Communications Director Burhanettin Duran announced that the visit will focus on strengthening the strategic partnership between Türkiye and the United Kingdom, highlighting the deep-rooted alliance and expanding cooperation between the two nations.
“Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, will pay an official visit to Ankara on October 27, 2025, at the invitation of our President,” Duran said in his statement. “The upcoming talks will address the strategic Türkiye-UK relations, which are based on a close alliance, as well as current regional and international developments.”
During the visit, President Erdoğan and Prime Minister Starmer are expected to discuss a wide range of issues, including defense industry cooperation, trade relations, migration, energy security, and coordination on regional crises such as the situation in Gaza and ongoing tensions in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
The visit marks Starmer’s first official trip to Türkiye since taking office, signaling a renewed phase in bilateral dialogue as both countries seek to deepen political, economic, and security cooperation. (ILKHA)
