The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has reaffirmed its commitment to providing essential humanitarian services in the Gaza Strip, despite the extremely difficult conditions facing residents.
According to the agency, its schools continue to serve as safe shelters for families displaced by ongoing crises, with classrooms converted into temporary homes to meet urgent housing needs.
UNRWA’s teams of social workers and aid personnel are also maintaining critical services, offering protection, psychosocial support, and practical assistance to help affected residents rebuild their lives with dignity.
More than 12,000 UNRWA staff members work across Gaza daily, providing education, healthcare, and essential humanitarian aid to displaced persons. The agency emphasized that every lesson taught, medical consultation provided, water distributed, and waste collection conducted is carried out by its dedicated personnel, underscoring UNRWA’s ongoing mission amid challenging circumstances.
“Even in the most difficult situations, UNRWA remains committed to serving Palestinian refugees in Gaza,” the agency said in a statement on social media platform X.
The announcement highlights UNRWA’s continued role as a lifeline for thousands of vulnerable residents, ensuring that basic services remain operational despite conflict, displacement, and limited resources. (ILKHA)
