A US Navy warship has intercepted and destroyed a drone launched from Yemen that was heading toward it, according to the US Central Command.
The USS Carney, a guided-missile destroyer, shot down the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on Thursday, while it was escorting two other ships in the Red Sea, one of which was carrying military equipment to the region.
“Although its intentions are not known, the UAV was heading toward the warship,” the US Central Command said in a statement posted on the messaging platform X.
The statement added that there were no injuries to US personnel and no damage to US ships. (ILKHA)
