Yemeni Armed Forces strike Ben Gurion Airport with hypersonic missile in support of Gaza

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced a major retaliatory operation late Friday night, declaring that they had launched a hypersonic ballistic missile, dubbed "Palestine-2," at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv.
The strike reportedly led to widespread panic, mass evacuations, and the temporary suspension of flight operations at the airport.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for Yemen’s Armed Forces, delivered an official statement confirming that the missile successfully hit its intended targets. He described the operation as a “strategic victory” carried out in solidarity with the oppressed people of Gaza and as a direct response to what he called “the ongoing genocide and crimes committed by the Zionist regime.”
“The Palestine-2 missile strike is a clear message: Yemen stands with Gaza,” Saree said. “Our operations will continue until the aggression on the Gaza Strip ceases and the criminal siege is lifted.”
The statement urged Arab and Islamic nations to take concrete action in support of Gaza, condemning the silence of the international community in the face of Israel’s continued blockade and bombardment campaign.
Following the missile launch, Israeli media outlets, including Channel 12, confirmed that Ben Gurion Airport was shut down temporarily as authorities scrambled to assess the damage. Residents in the Gush Dan region and occupied al-Quds were instructed to take shelter during the strike, according to emergency alerts issued by the occupation authorities.
Israeli sources acknowledged that this marked the second missile fired from Yemeni territory toward the occupied lands in less than 48 hours, signaling a growing escalation by the Yemeni forces in support of the Palestinian cause.
The unprecedented use of a hypersonic missile—capable of flying at speeds exceeding Mach 5—represents a significant development in Yemen’s strategic capabilities and further underscores the widening regional dimension of the war on Gaza. (ILKHA)
