Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) increased by 86.46% on annual basis, by 4.15% on a monthly basis, the Turkish Statistical Institute said on Friday.
D-PPI increased by 4.15% on monthly basis, by 4.15% on December of the previous year basis, by 86.46% on same month of the previous year basis and by 125.53% on the twelve months moving averages basis in January 2023.
Manufacturing increased by 70.49% annually
D-PPI in four main sectors of industry increased by 101.51% for mining and stone quarrying, by 70.49% for manufacturing, by 237.14% for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, by 116.64% for water supply, annually.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 60.98% for intermediate goods, by 69.42% for durable consumer goods, by 97.14% for non-durable consumer goods, by 188.23% for energy, by 60.19% for capital goods, annually.
Manufacturing increased by 5.12% monthly
D-PPI in four main sectors of industry increased by 6.08% for mining and stone quarrying, increased by 5.12% for manufacturing, decreased by 3.13% for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, increased by 2.15% for water supply, monthly.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 3.46% for intermediate goods, increased by 7.34% for durable consumer goods, increased by 8.19% for non-durable consumer goods, decreased by 0.64% for energy, increased by 6.29% for capital goods, monthly.
Compared to general D-PPI, lower annual change observed in 19 subdivisions while 10 subdivisions were higher
The lowest rates of annual increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for basic metals by 28.97%, for paper and paper products by 43.33%, for rubber and plastic products by 47.77%.
On the other hand the highest rates of annual increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 237.14%, for other mining and quarrying products by 147.26%, for other non-metallic mineral products by 145.09%.
Compared to general D-PPI, lower monthly change observed in 12 subdivisions while 17 subdivisions were higher
The highest rates of monthly decrease in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for crude petroleum and natural gas by 9.00%, for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 3.13%.
On the other hand the highest rates of monthly increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for beverages by 20.42%, for coal and lignite by 15.37%, for other transport equipment by 13.57%. (ILKHA)
