Turkish Finance Minister meets global investors in New York

Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek met with representatives from over 25 major global investment firms managing assets exceeding $4 trillion during a high-profile investor meeting in New York.
The event, held on the sidelines of the G20, IMF, and World Bank Spring Meetings, was co-organized by the Turkey-U.S. Business Council and Citi Group.
Accompanied by Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan, Şimşek showcased Türkiye’s economic strategies, emphasizing fiscal discipline, structural reforms, and measures to curb inflation while boosting market stability.
The minister also held one-on-one discussions with senior executives from the world’s top three credit rating agencies to highlight Türkiye’s macroeconomic policies and reform efforts.
The New York meetings aimed to bolster investor confidence in Türkiye’s economic trajectory. Şimşek is set to continue his U.S. visit in Washington, D.C., where he will further discuss Türkiye’s economic outlook and explore avenues for enhanced global financial collaboration. (ILKHA)
