Türkiye’s paid employee numbers rise 2% annually in June

The number of paid employees in Türkiye increased by 2.0% year-on-year in June 2025, according to data released on Friday by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
The total number of paid employees across the industry, construction, and trade-services sectors reached 15,925,359 in June, up from 15,612,472 in the same month last year.
A breakdown of the figures shows contrasting trends across sectors. The number of paid employees in the industrial sector fell by 2.1% compared with June 2024, while the construction sector recorded a sharp 8.2% increase. Employment in the trade-services sector grew by 3.1% over the same period.
On a monthly basis, the total number of paid employees remained unchanged compared with May 2025. Sectoral data shows a 0.3% decrease in the industrial sector, a 0.9% rise in construction, and a 0.1% increase in trade-services.
