Hope Caravan President calls for urgent aid to alleviate Gaza’s hunger crisis

Ankara witnessed a powerful display of solidarity with Gaza as thousands of citizens took to the streets, marching under the banner “From Anatolia to Parliament, From Parliament to Gaza; Humanitarian Corridor to Gaza.”
Organized by the Ankara Palestine Solidarity Platform (ANFİDAP), the march united representatives of NGOs and conscientious citizens from across Anatolia in a heartfelt call to end the ongoing genocide and open humanitarian corridors to the besieged Gaza Strip.
Cengiz Kurtaran, President of the Hope Caravan Foundation (Umut Kervan Vakfı), who actively participated in the march, emphasized the grave humanitarian crisis gripping Gaza. Highlighting the urgent need to combat widespread hunger, Kurtaran called on the international community and regional actors to immediately open humanitarian corridors and deliver life-saving aid to the starving population.
“Humanitarian corridors must be opened immediately, and aid must be delivered,” Kurtaran declared, drawing attention to Gaza as “our biggest wound” — a suffering people left isolated and forgotten by much of the world. Speaking on behalf of NGOs and people of conscience, he stressed, “We are calling out from Ankara. We want to do our part in opening corridors and delivering humanitarian aid as soon as possible to alleviate the hunger in Gaza.”
Kurtaran also spoke movingly about the spiritual responsibility felt by the gathered community. “Our Lord will hold us accountable for this,” he said, referring to the moral imperative of standing with the oppressed. “We have gathered as a community so that we can give an account to our Lord with a clear conscience. Demands are being made. Speeches are being given. We are praying to our Lord for the oppression to end as soon as possible and for the Zionists to be expelled in a humiliating manner.”
The march in Ankara, driven by deep-rooted compassion and unwavering commitment to justice, stands as a testament to the enduring unity of the ummah in supporting the Palestinian cause. It sends a clear message that the people of Gaza are not forgotten and that urgent humanitarian relief and justice remain top priorities for activists and civil society across Türkiye. (ILKHA)
