The Turkish Statistical Institute announced on Monday that the number of paid employees increased by 2.5% annually in October 2024 compared to the same month the previous year.

The total number of paid employees in industry, construction, and trade-services sectors rose from 15,448,458 in October 2023 to 15,837,471 in October 2024.

Breaking down the data by sub-sectors, the number of paid employees in the industrial sector decreased by 1.1%, while the construction sector saw a 6.3% increase, and the trade-services sector experienced a 3.9% rise annually.

On a monthly basis, the number of paid employees remained unchanged in October 2024 compared to the previous month. However, within the sub-sectors, there was a 0.3% decrease in the industrial sector, a 0.6% increase in the construction sector, and a 0.1% increase in the trade-services sector. (ILKHA)
