Türkiye to revolutionize public spending with AI-powered transparency tools

Türkiye’s Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, announced on Sunday the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered systems to enhance transparency and efficiency in public spending.
The initiative, revealed via Şimşek’s social media account, aims to bolster fiscal discipline and strengthen oversight of austerity measures.
“We increase transparency for the efficient use of public resources and digitalize audit processes with artificial intelligence technologies,” Şimşek stated. The AI-based tools will prioritize accountability, enabling early detection of legislative violations and financial irregularities in public expenditure, with prompt corrective actions to follow.
The minister highlighted that audits and reviews have already begun for expenditures non-compliant with financial regulations, underscoring the government’s commitment to eliminating waste and ensuring responsible budget management. This move marks a significant step in Türkiye’s broader push to modernize public administration through advanced technology, establishing a sustainable and transparent financial framework. (ILKHA)
