Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared an iftar (fast-breaking dinner) with teachers at the Presidential Complex.
Addressing an iftar with teachers, Erdoğan said: “We have raised the standards in our education environments to a level incomparable to the past in humanitarian, physical, scientific, and technological terms.”
Describing teachers as the keystone of the Turkish education system and as highly respected individuals to whom the future of the nation has been entrusted, Erdoğan drew attention to the investments made in education in Türkiye over the past 20 years. “We have raised the standards in our education environments to a level incomparable to the past in humanitarian, physical, scientific and technological terms. We have put an end to the overcrowded classrooms problem, which retards learning, by building 351 thousand new classrooms all around the country and appointing 729 thousand new teachers to our schools. 75% of teachers currently on duty have been appointed during our term in office. Thanks to these appointments and new classrooms, Türkiye has reached the OECD average in the number of teachers per student.” (ILKHA)
