Mehmet Bahattin Temel, one of his comrades, has recounted the personality of Fesih Güler, who was one of distinguished figures of Turkey's Hizbullah Jamaah and lost his life at age 49 due to complications related to Covid-19.
Fesih Güler, who was subjected to heavy tortures and inhumane treatment during 28 February post-modern coup period and was imprisoned for years as a result of a FETO conspiracy, died on Agust 18 in a private hospital where he was being treated for coronavirus pandemic.
Mehmet Bahattin Temel, one of his comrades, spoke to Ilke News Agency about Fesih Güler’s outstanding personality, which was similar to the exemplary personalities of the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Pointing out that he met with the late Fesih Güler in the 90s, Temel said: “What the most impressed me about Güler was the remarks of our Martyred Guide regarding him when he was still at college. Our Martyred Guide said, 'He is a young man who is capable of development.’ At this point, the prediction of the Martyred Guide has come true. Indeed, Guler has proved it throughout his life. He proved it both by the beauty of his morality and by his personality. That's how he laid out how true believer he was.”
“We stayed away from each other during the time when I was in prison from 1994-2004. But in the short time before that we saw and discovered that beautiful quality of his personality. The period of my further dialogue with him is after 2004. We had a relationship in 2005 when he was released from prison.”
“He was aware of the need to work more and more”
Speaking about Güler’s altruistic behaviors, Temel said: “At that time, we saw the quality and beauty of his personality better. The maturity, fortitude, wisdom and sincerity of the cause that both his teenage years and his years in prison gave him were once again revealed. It was a very dangerous to perform services related to Islamic cause, especially after 2004. The members and families of a community who met the dungeons after tortures had a fear over them and, of course, this made the works a little more difficult. But after 2005, I saw a constant vigor, excitement and action in Guler during the Islamic activities. In other words, he was never backing down, constantly dragging those around him with the awareness of the need and necessity to work harder. He had the belief that something new had to be done every day, and we were working together with that excitement.”
“We worked together all the time from that period until his death. Fesih Güler was a true believer who worked on the factory floor, so to speak. He never liked screens, he never wanted to be in front of the curtain. But he always tried to carry the heaviest loads behind the curtain. I personally learned a lot from him at the time when I worked with him.”
Fesih Güler
"Güler was one of the exceptional people in Islamic cause"
Pointing out that many of Güler's personality traits are similar to those of Prophet Muhammed’s Companions, while emphasizing the personalities of the true believer, Temel continued his remarks as follows: “Every true believer has a distinguished personality. Now, if we want to talk about this brother's personality, of course, we have to compare him to those of Prophet Muhammed’s Companions. Prophet Muhammed says, ‘My Companions are like the stars, whichever of them you follow you will be rightly guided.’ The Prophet of Allah points out to us his companions and says, follow them. To know the messenger of Allah is to know the administration. So how will the manager manage? The best example for an administrator is Prophet Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him). The best example for a true believer or the one who is managed is the Companions of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH). The person who is directed must obtain a guide by looking at the Companions, and follow their footsteps and provide the motivation for his cause.
Describing Fesih Güler as a star who followed the Companions of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), Temel went on to say: “Today, there are no the Companions, but there are stars following them. Fesih Güler was one of those rare stars in the case. From this point of view, he possessed the distinct characteristics of many of the Companions.”
"Güler was one of the eminent persons who carried the Companions to our century"
“The fact that Güler was involved in Islamic activities since he was a little boy was similar to Ali ibn Abu Talib (Radiyallahu Anhu), who never had anything to do with the Jahiliyyah. Neither Ali nor Fesih Güler had a history of Jahiliyyah in their life. Praise be to Allah we have witnessed that this good brother has nothing to do with Jahiliyyah since the day we knew him. As Ali bin Abu Talib at his young age said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I will help you', this brother (Güler) also helped with the cause since he was a child. From the point of view of his constant firm stance on Islamic issues, he was similar to Hazrat Abu Bakr. He looked like Hazrat Osman with his soft temperament, the beauty of his morals and his calm character. In other words, he was a man who possessed the beauty of many Companions. Güler was similar to Mus'ab bin Umeyr in that he was an example to young people and influenced both his family and his environment in the Çınar District of Diyarbakir province, where he grew up. Indeed, Güler was one of the eminent examples that carried the Companions to our century. During the most difficult periods, both in the struggle and in the detention periods, Fesih Güler never stepped back and was brave. In terms of courage, all the heroics in the Companions can be counted for Fesih Güler.”
Recalling the hardships suffered by Muslims during the period of FETO’s plots, Temel said: “Prior to 2000, the brothers, who were questioned by the Deep State of that time, remained in custody for a maximum of a month. But Fesih Güler and his friends remained in custody for months. Güler, who has been subjected to all kinds of torture like Hubeyb, one of Prophet Muhammed’s companions. But praise be to Allah, he never stepped back, he resisted heroically.”
"He took on the mission of the Prophet Joseph in the dungeon"
Point out that Fesih Güler undertook the mission of the Prophet Joseph during his time in prison, Temel went on to say: “I did not stay in the same prison with Fesih Güler, but those who stayed with him said that he was a person who embellishes and beautifies the environment he is in and saves his friends from the distressed there. In prison, although he was younger than his other friends, he had a personality that could comfort the older ones. I can say that he was carrying out the mission of the Prophet Joseph in the dungeon.”
"After he was released from prison, he also took part in Islamic activities all the time”
“He never stepped back or stopped after the 2000s. He again took part in Islamic activities all the time. Think! He did not choose to spend time with his family, although he had stayed away from home for so many years. In that process, perhaps such weaknesses could be seen on some, but not on Fesih Güler,” Temel noted.
"Allah has tested our brother with disease like the Prophet Job"
Touching upon Güler's perseverance in the face of his recent health problems, Temel reminded that the Prophet Job had showed the greatest example of patience against diseases.
"Allah has tested our brother with disease like the Prophet Job. As it is known, he had undergone a prolonged period of torture. His kidneys, which had weakened at the time, unfortunately failed. Later, with the transplant of the kidney taken from his brother, a new process began for him. Due to the necessity to use drugs to suppress the immune system, he carried the drugs in his bag and was obliged to use them at certain intervals. Indeed, those drugs had destroyed his immune system,” Temel added.
"With his patience, fortitude, resistance, courage and determination, Fesih Güler was an exemplary true believer"
Temel concluded his remarks as follows: “His sadness in the final moments of his life was perhaps telling and begging his Lord, 'O My Lord, this disease has hampered my Islamic works. After that I'm a little more restricted in the Islamic activities. God, don't make my troubles an obstacle to my Islamic activities.’ In this respect, we can say that he looked like the Prophet Job. In summary, with his patience, fortitude, resistance, courage and determination, Fesih Güler was an exemplary personality in every aspect.” (ILKHA)
