3rd session of the 10th scholars meeting begins in Diyarbakır

Islamic scholars to discuss ideological challenges, family values, and social issues
The third session of the 10th Scholars Meeting, organized by the Union of Scholars and Madrasas (ITTIHADUL ULEMA), has begun in Diyarbakır, continuing the annual gathering of prominent Islamic scholars, researchers, and academics from across the Muslim world — particularly from the Kurdistan Region.
Held under the theme “Ideological Initiatives Desinged Against on Our Islamic Identity,” the 10th annual meeting is taking place at the Saladin Ayyub Mosque Conference Hall in the Yenişehir district of Diyarbakır. The event seeks to strengthen scholarly cooperation and to address ideological, cultural, and social challenges confronting the Islamic Ummah.
The second day of the meeting opened with an address by HAMAS official Sami Abu Zuhri, who emphasized the need for unity and intellectual steadfastness within the Muslim world in the face of global ideological pressures.
The third session, moderated by Prof. Dr. Nurullah Kurt, will feature a series of forthcoming academic presentations focused on vital issues affecting Muslim societies. The scheduled speakers and topics include:
-Dr. Ali Kirati, with a presentation titled “Evaluation of Gender Equality in the Context of Islamic Principles and Kurdish Sociology.”
-Researcher-Writer Özkan Yaman, who will discuss “The Place of the Family in Our Society with Its Historical Origins and Value in Islam, and the Threats It Faces Today (Efforts to Undermine and Destroy Through the Concepts of Family and Honor).”
-Dr. Mazin Şeyhani, who will present “Damage Caused to Families and Youth by the Unconscious Use of the Internet and Social Media and Necessary Measures to Be Taken.”
-Yahya Öger, who will deliver a talk on “Inadequate Efforts to Combat Drug and Substance Addiction and the Damage It Causes.”
Following these presentations, participants are expected to engage in discussions and adopt a final statement summarizing the main conclusions and recommendations of the conference.
