Erdoğan promises unwavering support to Syrian people

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa held a joint press conference on Tuesday at the Presidential Complex, following their meeting to discuss the future of bilateral relations and regional stability.
Erdoğan emphasized Türkiye's commitment to supporting the Syrian people during this new period of cooperation. "As Türkiye, just as we did not leave our Syrian brothers and sisters alone in their most desperate and difficult days, we will provide them with the required support in the new period, as well," Erdoğan stated.
Highlighting the end of 13 years of bloodshed and suffering in Syria, Erdoğan noted that the Syrian people now have the necessary will to determine their own future. He expressed optimism about the future, describing the visit as the beginning of a period of permanent friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Erdoğan added: "I openly expressed this to my treasured brother and his delegation. I consider today’s historic visit as the beginning of a period of permanent friendship and cooperation between our countries. All our institutions and organizations have been working intensively for the past two months to restore our relations to their former strategic level." (ILKHA)
