Erdoğan: Türkiye is reshaping its future through brotherhood

President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has reaffirmed his government’s determination to eliminate terrorism in Türkiye, declaring the dawn of a “terror-free Türkiye” while honoring the thousands who have lost their lives in the decades-long fight against separatist violence.
Speaking at the 32nd Consultation and Assessment Meeting of the Justice and Development (AK) Party in Kızılcahamam, Ankara, President Erdoğan marked the somber legacy of August 14, 1984—the date of the first major attack by the PKK terrorist organization.
“Since then, nearly 10,000 security personnel have been martyred, and around 50,000 of our citizens have lost their lives,” Erdoğan said. “I once again wish Allah’s mercy upon our martyrs and citizens. We have never forgotten them, and we never will.”
With emotional emphasis, Erdoğan paid tribute to the sacrifices made in defense of the nation’s unity: “Our homeland, soaked in the blood of martyrs, will inshallah endure forever. Our star-and-crescent flag will continue to fly freely in our skies.”
“Terror-Free Türkiye” Not a Negotiated Compromise
President Erdoğan addressed recent developments concerning the PKK, including reported steps toward the group’s disarmament and dissolution, which he said have opened a “window of opportunity” for national peace. However, he emphasized that the government’s Terror-Free Türkiye Project is not the result of any negotiation or compromise.
“This is not a deal, nor a give-and-take,” Erdoğan declared. “Only the so-called terror barons, those who profit from bloodshed, benefit from the continuation of terror. Today, we are tearing down this dirty game.”
A Message of National Unity: “The Manzikert Spirit Lives On”
Drawing parallels with pivotal moments in Turkish history, President Erdoğan invoked themes of unity and shared heritage between Turks and Kurds, calling it a renewal of the spirit of Manzikert, the alliance for Al-Quds, and the soul of the War of Independence.
“Today, history is repeating itself. Our Turkish and Kurdish brothers and sisters are once again embracing each other with love and solidarity,” he said. “We are witnessing the dawn of a great and strong Türkiye.”
The President’s remarks were met with standing ovations from party members and officials in attendance, many of whom viewed the speech as both a powerful message of reconciliation and a firm declaration of national resolve against terrorism.
As Türkiye moves forward in what Erdoğan described as a “sensitive and cautious” period, the government appears committed to consolidating internal peace while preserving the sacrifices of the past and safeguarding the unity of the republic. (ILKHA)
