Ali Sağlam, the head of Hope Caravan Foundation’s Malatya branch, called on citizens to donate their zakat and sadaqat al-fitr to earthquake-affected people.
A humanitarian aid campaign that was initiated by Hope Caravan Foundation, European Orphan Hand, Orphans Foundation, and IHO EBRAR to aid people who were struck by the deadly earthquake in southern Türkiye and northern Syria will continue in full swing during the holy month of Ramadan.
Since the first day of the earthquake, Hope Caravan has been distributing humanitarian aid supplies, including blankets, electric heaters, food parcels, clothing items, and cleansing materials, to the earthquake-affected people.
The foundation also provides hot meals to more than a hundred thousand of people daily in its soup kitchens, which were set up across the earthquake-stricken areas in southern Türkiye.
Noting that they will continue their charity efforts in the earthquake zone during the holy month of Ramadan, the head of Hope Caravan Foundation’s Malatya branch, Ali Sağlam, called on philanthropists and all citizens to donate their zakat and sadaqat al-fitr to the earthquake-affected people.
“Earthquake victims urgently need food, clothing, and shoes”
“As Umut Kervanı, we have been serving hot meals we cook at our soup kitchens to earthquake victims in 5 different locations in the city since the day after the quakes. On the other hand, earthquake victims urgently need food, clothing, and shoes,” Sağlam said.
"During the month of Ramadan, we will serve sahur and iftar dinners to our earthquake victims at five locations in the city. Hopefully, with the support of our benefactors, our humanitarian aid efforts will continue. Our benefactors support us in this regard, but we expect them to donate their zakat and sadaqat al-fitr to earthquake victims in order that our work will continue throughout the month of Ramadan and that the aid will not be interrupted. May Allah be pleased with all our donors,” he added. (ILKHA)
