In observance of Mawlid al-Nabi, the birth of Prophet Muhammad, the Hope Caravan Foundation will distribute "Mawlid Meals" to thousands of people in need across Gaza, the West Bank, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Yemen, Syria, and numerous African countries.
Scheduled for September 14, the foundation's initiative is part of its ongoing global humanitarian efforts, aimed at providing aid and spreading the teachings of the Prophet. The meals will be distributed on the night of Mawlid al-Nabi, a significant religious occasion in the Islamic calendar.
Speaking to ILKHA news agency, Cengiz Kurtaran, President of the Hope Caravan Foundation, emphasized that the initiative is about more than just providing food. It seeks to promote the values and legacy of Prophet Muhammad.
"We will commemorate the birth of our Prophet Muhammad, who was sent as a mercy to the world. His arrival illuminated a dark era, and today, as we witness widespread injustices and societal breakdowns, the need for his teachings is more urgent than ever. On this sacred night, we hope to reignite his Sunnah in society and encourage people to live by his example," said Kurtaran.
Kurtaran stressed the importance of the project, especially in regions experiencing severe hardship. "Gaza is currently enduring great suffering. Despite the challenges, we will honor the Prophet by distributing meals in Gaza and the West Bank. Our mission is to understand and follow the life of Prophet Muhammad, particularly in times of adversity," he explained.
In addition to the aid efforts in Gaza, the foundation will also distribute meals in several African countries where Hope Caravan has active programs. Special meals will be provided in Bangladesh, where the foundation supports orphanages and madrasas, as well as in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, and Syria.
Kurtaran also confirmed that the foundation will continue its regular aid operations, including the distribution of food packages and meat supplies, to identified families in both Türkiye and abroad. "We pray that through these efforts, people will come to better understand Prophet Muhammad, stand against oppression, and help build a more just and compassionate society," Kurtaran added.
The Hope Caravan Foundation has been actively involved in providing humanitarian aid across the world, especially in war-torn and impoverished regions, throughout the year. (ILKHA)
