Iran and Türkiye discuss regional issues, Gaza crisis in Ankara meeting

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh met his Turkish counterpart Nuh Yilmaz in Ankara on Thursday to review bilateral relations, regional developments, and the situation in Gaza.
According to official statements, the two sides discussed the latest progress in cooperation between Iran and Türkiye, underscoring their shared interest in strengthening political, economic, and regional ties. Both diplomats emphasized the importance of closer coordination on issues affecting the Islamic world.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza was a key focus of the meeting. Khatibzadeh and Yilmaz condemned the continuation of Israeli attacks and the blockade on the enclave, stressing the urgent need for international efforts to halt the aggression and provide relief to Palestinians.
Khatibzadeh also expressed gratitude to the Turkish government and people for condemning Israeli strikes against Iran. Yilmaz, in turn, reiterated Ankara’s readiness to expand cooperation with Tehran across various sectors, including humanitarian support for the Palestinian people.
