A tragic metrobus accident in Istanbul's Küçükçekmece district on Thursday morning has left one person dead and 38 others injured, including two in serious condition.
The Istanbul Governorship reported that the accident took place at 08:48 AM in the Küçükçekmece district, when two metrobuses collided near the Sefaköy Marriage Office area. The collision resulted in the death of one individual and caused injuries to 38 others, with two of the injured in serious condition.
In response to the incident, numerous medical teams were swiftly dispatched to the scene, and the injured were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. The Governorship confirmed that an investigation into the cause of the accident has been initiated.
The Istanbul Governorship expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the accident.
"Immediately following the incident, numerous medical teams were dispatched to the scene, and the injured were taken to nearby hospitals. An investigation into the incident has been launched,” the statement read.
