Students in Diyarbakır hold charity bazaar to support Palestinians in Gaza
At Mehmet Akif Ersoy Anatolian Imam Hatip High School and Middle School in Diyarbakır, students organized a charity bazaar in the schoolyard to support Palestinians in Gaza.
The event took place at the school located in the Kayapınar district of Diyarbakır, with all proceeds pledged to be donated to Gaza.
Various stalls were set up, featuring homemade foods, desserts, cookies, çiğ köfte (raw meatballs), snacks, and beverages. Parents of the students also volunteered to manage the stands.
Speaking about the event, students emphasized that their sole purpose was to provide at least a small relief to Muslims in Gaza.
Muhammed Emin Azak, a student, said: “We are holding this bazaar to contribute, even if just a little, to Gaza. Although a ceasefire was declared yesterday, we neither trust it today nor tomorrow because we do not trust Israel. They always agree to ceasefires and then continue attacking the oppressed people in Gaza. We organized this bazaar for Gaza, and as you can see, everyone with a conscience has come to support it.”
Yasir Begen, another student, called for a boycott of products from Israel and its supporters, saying:
“Our school has started this bazaar for our brothers and sisters in Gaza. There may be a ceasefire in Gaza, but we continue organizing this event for the Muslims there. Let us not buy boycott products. Those who buy them support Israel and America and contribute to the killing of Gazan Muslims. Let us not forget our brothers and sisters in Gaza and avoid buying boycott products. We will continue not purchasing them.”
Yusuf Roni Ebinç underscored the stark difference between the lives of children worldwide and their counterparts in Gaza, highlighting the severe challenges Palestinian children endure.
“Today we organized this bazaar to help Palestine. Everyone brought foods prepared at home to sell, which serves as a form of donation and charity for Palestine. We are here for Palestine today. While we are able to attend school, they are deprived of the right to education. While we can eat and drink, they go hungry. They cannot stay with their families or sleep peacefully. Every day, Israel causes them harm. May Allah send His invisible soldiers to destroy Israel,” Ebinç said.
The bazaar was not only a meaningful act of support but also served as a call to action against products from the occupation regime and its allies, while raising awareness about the ongoing suffering of Palestinians in Gaza. (ILKHA)
