Turkish Foreign Minister to participate in high-level Türkiye–ASEAN talks in Kuala Lumpur

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will travel to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to participate in the Seventh Trilateral Meeting of the Türkiye–ASEAN Sectoral Dialogue Partnership.
The meeting will take place on July 10–11, 2025, on the sidelines of the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting.
According to the official statement released by the ministry, Minister Fidan’s visit underscores Türkiye’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its political, economic, and diplomatic engagement with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
"The participation of our Minister at the trilateral dialogue meeting reflects Türkiye’s deepening ties with the ASEAN community and its strong resolve to contribute to regional peace, prosperity, and multilateral cooperation," the statement read.
Türkiye was granted the status of Sectoral Dialogue Partner by ASEAN in 2017, allowing for enhanced collaboration in various fields such as trade, security, education, and cultural exchange.
During his visit, Minister Fidan is expected to hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from ASEAN member states to further discuss joint projects, regional issues, and strategic cooperation frameworks.
The ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, which brings together diplomats from across Southeast Asia and partner countries, serves as a platform to address regional security challenges, economic development, and multilateral diplomacy in an increasingly complex global landscape. (ILKHA)
