The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that 36 PKK militants were killed in operations conducted in northern Syria and Iraq.
“Thirty-two PKK/YPG terrorists identified in northern Syria and four PKK terrorists identified in northern Iraq were neutralized by our heroic Turkish Armed Forces. Our fight against terrorist organizations, wherever they are, will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized,” the ministry said in a statement on X.
The operations are part of Türkiye's ongoing military campaign to counteract threats from the PKK and affiliated groups, which Ankara designates as terrorist organizations. These groups are accused of launching attacks against Türkiye and destabilizing the region.
