Türkiye extends condolences over fatal boat accident in Vietnam

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed sorrow and solidarity with the people of Vietnam following a tragic boat accident off the coast of Ha Long Bay on Saturday, July 19.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Ministry conveyed its condolences to the families of the victims and to the Vietnamese nation.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of lives caused by a boat accident that occurred on Saturday off Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. We extend our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and to the people of Vietnam,” the statement read.
While the number of casualties has not been officially confirmed in the Turkish statement, local reports from Vietnam indicate that several people lost their lives in the incident, and search and rescue operations were initiated shortly afterward.
Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its scenic beauty, is a popular tourist destination in northern Vietnam. Accidents in the area, though rare, often draw significant international attention due to the high volume of domestic and international visitors.
