HÜDA PAR spokesman, Şehzade Demir, has slammed the Australian government for designating Palestine's Islamic Movement (Hamas) as a terror organization.
In his party’s weekly statement, HÜDA PAR Spokesperson and Secretary-General Şehzade Demir touched upon the Australian government’s decision regarding Hamas, and frozen Afghan assets in the United States.
“Australia’s decision to designate Hamas, a legitimate resistance movement against zionist occupation, as a terror organization is unacceptable. With this decision, imperialist powers aim to protect zionist regime, which violates international law by carrying out occupation and massacres in Palestine, while obviously making Palestinian resistance fighters the scapegoat. The Western countries, which target Islamic movements on all occasions and defend the zionist occupation regime, have shown their true faces once again with this decision. However, more surprisingly, some Islamic countries are in the race for normalization with the zionist regime, which spread like a virus in the middle of the Islamic world, and see the resistance as ‘illegal’. While the Western regimes supported the Zionist regime despite all its oppression, Islamic countries could not support the legitimate resistance of the Palestinian people, on the contrary, they took steps to defame the resistance and legitimize the occupation. The Islamic world must get rid of the disgrace it has fallen into, support the resistance and take action to end the occupation,” Demir said.
“US seizure of Afghanistan's assets is pure theft and banditry”
Regarding frozen Afghan assets in the United States, Demir said: “While the United States withdrew its troops from Afghanistan, it left behind a destroyed country and millions of people suffering from hunger. The UN has predicted that millions of children are at risk of dying due to poverty, lack of adequate food, and harsh winters and that 22.8 million people, more than half of the population, may experience serious food shortages in Afghanistan. It is a shame on all humanity that Afghan parents have to sell their one or more children to survive the ongoing poverty and hunger crisis. As Afghan people are in need of a piece of bread, U.S. President Joe Biden’s decision to allow approximately half of the $7 billion in frozen assets from Afghanistan's central bank to be reserved for victims of the September 11 is pure theft and banditry. It is very meaningful that neither the international community nor the Islamic world reacted against this decision.”
“We condemn and denounce this atrocity. The world should not remain silent against it. The international community should ensure that the frozen Afghan assets are paid back to the people of Afghanistan. If there is anyone who has to pay compensation, it should be the United States and its allies. They occupied Afghanistan for 20 years, violating international law and all humanitarian principles. They've ruined the country. They slaughtered hundreds of thousands of innocent people. They should pay compensation for all the damages they caused in Afghanistan to the last penny,” Demir added.
