“Türkiye should reestablish diplomatic relations with Syria and Egypt for the benefit of the peoples of the countries,” said HÜDA PAR spokesman.
Reminding that Turkish President Erdogan gave the signal that the talks with Egypt and Syria, with which relations had been frozen for a long time, would resume,Serkan Ramanlı emphasized that Turkey's relationship with the Syrian and Egyptian governments should not be “without preconditions”.
Ramanlı said: “Pressure against the opposition, especially the Muslim Brotherhood Organization, still continues in Egypt. Hundreds of dissidents in the country were unjustly sentenced to heavy imprisonment and death sentences. In the civil war that has been going on for 11 years in Syria, civilians continue to be targeted and the regime refrains from taking steps to end the war.”
Ramanlı continued his remarks as follows: “It is important to establish dialogue and relations between administrations for the benefit of the Muslim peoples in the region. However, the reasons that led to the termination of relations should not be ignored and a solution-oriented strategy should be determined. If there is to be a meeting with the junta administration in Egypt, first of all, calls should be made to end the oppression of the dissidents and stop the death penalty.”
“In Syria, on the other hand, an indefinite ceasefire should be established first, and cooperation should be made on the writing of a new constitution and the safe return of refugees. Relations with the Syrian and Egyptian governments should be established and developed not only for the sake of the interests of the state but also for the interests of the oppressed peoples,” he added.
