Türkiye’s EV charging network nears 30,000 sockets as demand surges

Türkiye’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure continues to grow rapidly, with the number of EV charging sockets approaching 30,000 nationwide, according to the latest report from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).
The latest Charging Service Market Monthly Statistics report for April shows a 2.7% increase in charging sockets from March, reaching a total of 29,496, up from 28,717. The total installed power capacity of these stations also grew by 3.8%, hitting 2,084 megawatts.
The breakdown reveals 17,231 AC (slow charging) sockets, a 1.9% rise from March’s 16,900, and 12,265 DC (fast charging) sockets, up 3.8% from 11,817. This growth aligns with a 5% surge in Türkiye’s EV fleet, which climbed from 220,258 vehicles in March to 231,474 in April.
The steady rise in both charging infrastructure and EV adoption signals Türkiye’s accelerating shift toward sustainable transportation. (ILKHA)
