With 253 new patients reported in the past 24 hours, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases has reached 21,762 in the Netherlands, the country’s Health Ministry announced in a statement on Thursday.
“Hospital admissions for 237 patients were reported April 9 2020 (current or previous). 148 deaths were reported. Not all of the hospital admissions or deaths occurred within the last 24 hours. Some patients are reported later,“ the statement said.
“The figures for the last few days are still in line with the impression that COVID-19 spreading slower than if no measures had been taken,” it noted.
“Since not all COVID-19 patients are tested, the actual numbers in the Netherlands are higher than the numbers stated in the report,” it added. (ILKHA)
