9 killed in traffic accident in eastern Dominican Republic

At least nine people were killed and five others injured in a traffic accident in the Higuey region of the Dominican Republic on Sunday.
The accident occurred on the Autovia del Este, a major highway that connects the capital Santo Domingo with the beach resorts of Punta Cana and Bávaro.
According to local reports, two passenger buses collided head-on for unknown reasons.
Local authorities and medical teams acted quickly to provide critical care to those affected by the accident.
The injured are now receiving medical attention and their condition is being closely monitored by medical professionals.
