Afghan, Iranian ministers discuss enhanced cooperation in mining and petroleum

Afghanistan’s Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, met with Iran’s Minister of Petroleum, Mohsen Paknejad, during an official visit to Iran on Wednesday.
The meeting centered on strengthening bilateral ties in the survey, exploration, extraction, and exploitation of mineral resources, oil, and gas.
Both ministers underscored the importance of implementing existing memorandums of understanding, focusing on knowledge transfer, skill development, and the exploration and development of Afghanistan’s vast mineral, oil, and gas reserves. They also explored opportunities for joint investments in Afghanistan’s resource-rich mining sector and discussed strategies to enhance human resource capacity in both countries.
