Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan sign trade and economic cooperation agreement in Bishkek

Afghanistan’s Industry and Commerce Minister Nooruddin Azizi and Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Economy and Trade Bakyt Sydykov signed a significant memorandum of understanding (MoU) on economic and trade cooperation visit by Azizi to the Kyrgyz Republic.
The agreement marks a pivotal step in strengthening bilateral ties and fostering regional trade collaboration.
The two ministers held productive discussions on establishing bilateral transit corridors and developing trade and transit mechanisms to enhance economic ties. Both expressed enthusiasm for trilateral cooperation involving Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, as well as joint efforts in digitalizing trade and banking processes to streamline cross-border commerce.
Minister Sydykov pledged to facilitate business visas for Afghan entrepreneurs and improve banking and transport relations, addressing key barriers to smoother trade activities between the two nations. These commitments are expected to bolster opportunities for Afghan businesses and enhance economic connectivity.
The meeting concluded with the signing of the MoU and a roadmap outlining future collaborations between Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Economy and Trade. The agreements signal a shared commitment to deepening economic partnerships and promoting regional trade integration. (ILKHA)
