Al-Qassam Brigades calls for escalation of resistance in West Bank

Abu Obeida, the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, has issued a powerful call to action, urging Palestinian youth across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem to intensify their resistance in the face of mounting Israeli military and settler violence.
In a statement published via Telegram, Abu Obeida praised the ongoing resistance efforts that have erupted in response to what he described as an “unbearable hell” imposed on Palestinians through brutal occupation policies and escalating settler terrorism.
“We call on our heroic youth to escalate their resistance in all areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem,” Abu Obeida declared. “Rise up against the aggressors to deter them from continuing their crimes and from moving forward with the plan to annex the West Bank, before what remains of Palestine is lost to our people.”
The Qassam spokesman’s remarks come amid a sharp rise in Israeli military raids, home demolitions, land seizures, and settler attacks across the occupied West Bank, particularly in areas around Nablus, Jenin, Ramallah, and Hebron. Rights organizations have documented a dramatic surge in violence against Palestinian civilians, including children, in recent months.
Abu Obeida’s message underscored a growing sense of urgency within the Palestinian resistance movement, warning that the occupation's current trajectory poses an existential threat to what remains of historic Palestine.
His statement is likely to galvanize youth-led grassroots resistance groups, which have already been organizing locally in cities and refugee camps under intense military pressure and collective punishment.
Observers note that the call signals a renewed phase of confrontation on multiple fronts, as the Israeli occupation tightens its grip through settler expansion, apartheid policies, and targeted killings.
Palestinian resistance factions have repeatedly emphasized that resistance—whether popular, armed, or civil—is a legitimate response to systematic oppression and land theft. Abu Obeida’s call echoes widespread Palestinian frustration and defiance in the face of international silence and continued impunity for Israeli crimes.
As the situation deteriorates, tensions in the West Bank remain high, with the possibility of a broad escalation looming on the horizon. (ILKHA)
