At least 15 people were killed and 15 others injured in an electricity transformer explosion on the banks of the Alaknanda river in Uttarakhand on Wednesday.
The explosion occurred near the Chamoli district headquarters, where a team of police officials and home guards were conducting a routine inspection of the power infrastructure.
The deceased include a police official and five home guards. The injured are being treated at the district's main hospital.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter.
