At least 35 students were killed and 23 others injured after an explosion inside Jihadiya Madrasa during noon prayers in the city of Aybak at the center of Samangan province of Afghanistan.
"This was not a suicide attack but a mine blast and was placed there," said Ferozuddin Munib, head of the provincial department of information and culture.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, condemned the attack and called it an unforgivable crime against all Islamic and human principles.
Kabir said that the enemies of Afghanistan and Islam revealed their hostility to Islam with this attack that targeted the students of the Quran and Sunnah.
He assured that the perpetrators of this crime will not remain unanswered.
