Bomb blast kills 11, injures six in Pakistan’s Balochistan

At least 11 people were killed and six others injured in a bomb blast targeting a vehicle in the Harnai district of Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province on Friday, according to local officials.
Deputy Commissioner of Harnai, Hazrat Wali, confirmed that a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated remotely as a vehicle carrying laborers passed through the Shahrag area. The explosion resulted in multiple casualties, with some of the injured reported to be in critical condition.
Following the blast, police, security forces, and rescue teams rushed to the scene, transporting the victims to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have since cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down those responsible.
The laborers were reportedly en route to work at a coal mine when the attack occurred. No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing so far.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives.
"Those ruthless elements responsible for harming the lives and property of innocent and unarmed citizens will have to pay a very heavy price," Sharif said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to eliminating terrorism from the country.
Balochistan has witnessed frequent attacks targeting security personnel, laborers, and civilians in recent years, as militants continue to carry out sporadic acts of violence in the region. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the latest attack. (ILKHA)
