Iran has reported 183 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 26,169, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Wednesday.
After 3,582 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 457,219 in the country.
There are at least 4,093 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 380,956 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 4,014,821 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,013,469 with 33,886,157 cases and more than 25,180,954 recoveries. (ILKHA)
