Free Palestine Mannheim and Zaytuna initiatives call for solidarity with Gaza

The Free Palestine Mannheim and Zaytuna initiatives, which have been organizing various events over the past two years to keep the Palestinian cause on the public agenda, held a major solidarity event in the German city of Mannheim.
A large tent was set up at Mannheim’s Marktplatz, drawing significant public attention. The event aimed to highlight the ongoing massacres, occupation and genocide in Gaza, while also introducing Palestinian culture to visitors. During the event, the names of Palestinians who lost their lives in Gaza were displayed on memorial plaques in tribute to the martyrs.
According to organizers, the proceeds from food and beverage sales at the stands set up every Saturday at Mannheim Marktplatz are donated to people in need in Gaza and used to cover legal support expenses.
The Free Palestine Mannheim team also continues its awareness campaign by running a boycott stand in an area surrounded by brands such as McDonald’s, Burger King, Zara and Starbucks, calling on the public to reject companies complicit in the occupation.
One of the organizers, Huriye, underlined that the boycott is not only an economic measure but also “a part of resistance and jihad.” “It is just as important to promote Palestinian culture as it is to raise boycott awareness, because we are also facing a cultural genocide.” She said.
Another organizer, Ahmet Kaan, spoke about the challenges they have faced in their activism for Palestine:“Our goal is to free Palestine and Jerusalem. We organize different events to expose the crimes of the Zionists. The strong public participation gives us hope.”
The event, which filled nearly the entire Marktplatz, reflected growing public support for Gaza across German cities despite restrictions on pro-Palestinian demonstrations.(ILKHA)
