Gaza death toll surges to 62,122 amid ongoing Israeli aggression

The Gaza Strip continues to endure catastrophic loss as the death toll from Israel’s relentless military campaign since October 2023 has climbed to 62,122, with the majority being women and children, according to medical sources.
An additional 156,758 Palestinians have been injured, many critically, while countless others remain trapped under rubble, beyond the reach of overwhelmed ambulance and rescue crews.
Since Israel violated a fragile ceasefire agreement and resumed its assault on Gaza on March 18, 2025, at least 10,576 civilians have been killed and 44,717 others wounded, medical sources report. In the past 24 hours alone, hospitals in Gaza received 58 bodies, including two recovered from beneath collapsed structures, and treated 185 injured individuals, underscoring the unrelenting pace of the violence.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached dire levels, with 22 civilians killed and 94 others injured in the past 24 hours while desperately attempting to access humanitarian aid. Since the onset of the conflict, 2,018 Palestinians have been killed and 14,947 wounded in attacks targeting aid distribution, highlighting Israel’s systematic obstruction of life-saving assistance to a population already on the brink.
Starvation and malnutrition have claimed three more lives in the past day, bringing the total to 269, including 112 children, as Israel’s blockade continues to choke off access to food, clean water, and medical supplies. Gaza’s hospitals, crippled by shortages and repeated attacks, are struggling to cope with the influx of casualties.
Palestinian officials and international human rights groups have condemned Israel’s actions as a deliberate escalation of violence against a defenseless population. “The targeting of civilians seeking aid and the destruction of essential infrastructure are war crimes that demand urgent international accountability,” said a spokesperson for the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Calls for an immediate ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian access have grown louder, with global solidarity movements urging world leaders to intervene.
The international community’s response has been criticized as inadequate, with activists on X pointing to the need for stronger sanctions and an end to military support for Israel. As Gaza’s people face relentless bombardment, starvation, and despair, the world is called upon to act decisively to halt this humanitarian catastrophe and uphold Palestinian rights to life and dignity.
