Gaza genocide: Death toll climbs to 62,744 as Israeli aggression intensifies

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported a staggering death toll of 62,744 martyrs and 158,259 injuries resulting from Israel’s ongoing genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people, which began on October 7, 2023.
In the last 24 hours alone, 58 Palestinians were killed and 308 others wounded as Israeli forces continued their relentless bombardment of the besieged enclave.
The ministry highlighted the dire humanitarian crisis, noting that 28 civilians were killed and 184 injured while desperately seeking humanitarian aid in the past day. Since October 2023, a total of 2,123 Palestinians, including women and children, have been martyred, and 15,615 injured, while attempting to secure basic necessities like food amid Israel’s tightened blockade. The ministry condemned these attacks as deliberate targeting of vulnerable civilians seeking “a morsel of bread.”
Since Israel violated a ceasefire agreement with Palestinian resistance factions on March 18, 2025, the ministry reported an additional 10,900 martyrs and 46,218 injuries, underscoring the escalating brutality of the occupation’s military operations. Furthermore, 11 deaths due to starvation and malnutrition were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 300, including 117 children, as Israel’s blockade continues to choke Gaza’s access to food and medical supplies.
The ministry emphasized that countless victims remain trapped under rubble or scattered in the streets, unreachable by rescue teams due to Israeli restrictions and incessant bombing. This ongoing obstruction of ambulance and civil defense operations has compounded the suffering of Gaza’s population, leaving families without hope of recovering their loved ones.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health called on the international community to take urgent action to halt Israel’s genocidal campaign, provide immediate humanitarian aid, and hold the occupation accountable for its atrocities against the Palestinian people. (ILKHA)
