Genocide in Gaza: 53,119 Palestinians dead, the world still silent

The death toll in the besieged Gaza Strip has soared to 53,119 since Israel launched its genocidal military campaign on October 7, 2023, according to medical sources in the enclave.
The vast majority of the victims are women and children, underscoring the civilian nature of the onslaught that has turned Gaza into a graveyard.
In addition to the staggering death toll, the number of wounded has climbed to 120,214, with many suffering life-altering injuries amid the collapse of Gaza’s health system and the ongoing Israeli blockade that continues to suffocate humanitarian relief efforts.
Medical authorities reported that 2,985 Palestinians have been killed and 8,173 injured since March 18, 2025, when Israel resumed its military aggression following a temporary ceasefire agreement. That fragile truce was shattered by a renewed Israeli campaign of bombings, raids, and mass displacement, plunging Gaza into deeper chaos and bloodshed.
In the last 24 hours alone, at least 109 bodies were delivered to Gaza’s overwhelmed hospitals, including one pulled from beneath rubble. Emergency units also treated 216 wounded civilians, many of them women, children, and the elderly.
Since dawn today, at least 93 Palestinians have been confirmed killed amid nonstop aerial bombardment and ground assaults, particularly targeting residential neighborhoods, refugee camps, and makeshift shelters housing displaced families.
According to frontline medics, countless victims remain buried beneath the ruins of flattened homes, with rescue efforts severely hampered by fuel shortages, the destruction of civil defense infrastructure, and the ongoing risk of Israeli airstrikes targeting rescue teams themselves.
The Gaza Strip, already reeling from more than 17 years of Israeli blockade, has descended into an unimaginable humanitarian catastrophe. Entire families have been wiped out, entire neighborhoods erased, and access to food, water, and medical care has been all but severed.
Israel’s systematic targeting of hospitals, schools, bakeries, and UN shelters has drawn widespread condemnation from human rights organizations. Yet, despite global outrage and calls for a ceasefire, the international community remains largely paralyzed in the face of Israel’s relentless campaign.
“The people of Gaza are being buried beneath not just rubble, but beneath the silence of the so-called international order,” said a spokesperson for Gaza’s health ministry. “Every hour that passes without an end to this aggression is another hour that children die of wounds that could have been treated, that mothers die shielding their babies.”
Palestinian voices continue to demand immediate international intervention to halt the genocide unfolding in real-time. Calls for an unconditional ceasefire, the lifting of the siege, and justice for the victims are growing louder by the day—but have yet to be answered by those with the power to stop the carnage.
As Gaza bleeds, its people continue to cling to faith and resistance amid the ruins, refusing to surrender their dignity, identity, or homeland. (ILKHA)
