Hamas calls for urgent international intervention after Israeli strike on Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital

The Hamas Movement has sounded the alarm over what it described as a genocidal campaign by Israeli occupation forces, following the latest bombing of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.
The attack, which struck the outpatient clinic building, has been condemned as a war crime and part of a systematic effort to destroy Gaza’s already devastated health sector.
In a statement on Monday, Hamas appealed to the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the United Nations to immediately intervene to stop the bloodshed. The movement urged international institutions to enforce protection for civilians, hospitals, and public infrastructure, stressing the need to hold the Israeli government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accountable for unprecedented violations of international law.
The Gaza Government Media Office (GMO) confirmed that Monday’s attack marked the 14th consecutive strike on the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital compound since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza. According to the GMO, Israeli warplanes bombed a displacement tent located inside the hospital grounds near the outpatient clinic, injuring several people and causing widespread damage.
Officials warned that the repeated targeting of the hospital has placed the lives of dozens of patients in immediate danger, underlining that this pattern of strikes reflects a deliberate campaign against Gaza’s health infrastructure.
“The occupation has crossed all red lines,” the GMO said in a statement, noting that international law explicitly prohibits attacks on healthcare facilities, displaced civilians, and humanitarian infrastructure. “What we are witnessing is not isolated; it is a systematic war against Gaza’s health system designed to break the will of our people.”
Human rights organizations have repeatedly warned that the collapse of Gaza’s medical system, under siege and relentless bombardment, would lead to catastrophic loss of life. Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, one of the last remaining central facilities in central Gaza, has been overwhelmed with casualties for months and is now on the brink of total collapse.
Hamas emphasized that the continuation of these crimes underscores the urgency for the international community to act. “The genocide carried out by Netanyahu’s government must be stopped immediately,” the statement read. “The blood of Gaza’s children, patients, and displaced families cannot be ignored.” (ILKHA)
