Hezbollah denounces Israel’s brutal attack on journalists in Gaza

Hezbollah fiercely condemned the Israeli military’s deliberate bombing of a journalists’ tent near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, which martyred six media professionals in what the Lebanese resistance movement described as a “heinous war crime.”
The attack, which targeted five Al Jazeera staff members, including prominent reporters Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammad Qreiqeh, alongside another journalist, underscores the “brutality, criminality, and lack of morality” of the Israeli regime, according to a statement from Hezbollah’s Media Relations Office.
The overnight strike on Sunday-Monday obliterated a tent used by journalists working to document the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Gaza. Hezbollah denounced the killings as a calculated move to suppress media coverage of Israel’s “crimes, massacres, genocide, and starvation” in the Gaza Strip. The group asserted that the attack is part of a broader Israeli strategy to silence journalists and obscure its plans for the forced displacement of Palestinians, following its decision to occupy the entirety of Gaza.
“This systematic assassination of journalists aims to distance the media from its vital role in exposing the Zionist entity’s relentless aggression,” Hezbollah’s statement read, emphasizing that such actions are designed to shield Israel’s genocidal campaign from global scrutiny.
Hezbollah extended its heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred journalists, Al Jazeera Channel, and “all free media professionals and journalists in Palestine, the Arab world, and the Islamic world.” The group saluted the courage of journalists who, despite immense dangers, continue to document Israel’s crimes, standing as a voice for the oppressed against “the world’s tyrants.”
In a call to action, Hezbollah urged global media institutions and international humanitarian organizations to condemn Israel’s ongoing attacks on journalists and to pursue justice by prosecuting the Israeli regime in international courts. The massacre of the six journalists, whose work was critical in exposing the plight of Palestinians, has sparked outrage and renewed demands for accountability for Israel’s relentless targeting of media workers in Gaza.
The attack near Al-Shifa Hospital is yet another grim chapter in Israel’s assault on Palestinian civilians and those who strive to tell their story, further galvanizing calls for an end to the occupation’s brutal campaign and justice for the Palestinian people. (ILKHA)
