Israel kills nearly 12,000 Palestinian students since October 7 aggression

The Ministry of Education has released alarming statistics revealing that over 11,923 Palestinian students have been killed and 19,199 injured since the onset of Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023.
The report specifies that in the Gaza Strip, more than 11,808 students have lost their lives and 18,596 have been injured. In the West Bank, the death toll stands at 115 students, with an additional 603 injured.
Additionally, the Ministry reported the tragic loss of 561 teachers and school administrators, with 3,729 sustaining injuries in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The situation remains dire, with over 148 educators detained in the West Bank.
The Ministry highlighted the extensive damage to educational infrastructure, noting that 341 government schools, universities, and related buildings, as well as 65 facilities affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), have been bombed or vandalized in the Gaza Strip. Among these, 138 have been severely damaged, and 77 have been completely destroyed.
Currently, approximately 788,000 students in the Gaza Strip are unable to attend their schools and universities due to the ongoing conflict. Many of these students are grappling with psychological trauma and challenging health conditions.
The Ministry also condemned the repeated occupation raids in the Jenin and Tulkarm governorates, which have instilled fear among students in their schools, further exacerbating the educational crisis in the region. (ILKHA)
