European Orphan Hand to distribute sacrificial meat in 30 countries across the globe

European Orphan Hand (Avrupa Yetim Eli), an international aid organisation known for its year-round humanitarian efforts, has announced its 2025 Qurbani (sacrifice) programme, which will see the distribution of sacrificial meat to orphans and impoverished communities across 30 countries.
The aid group, which focuses heavily on supporting orphans and vulnerable families in regions affected by poverty and conflict, will carry out the sacrificial slaughters with the help of trained volunteer representatives. In countries where representatives cannot travel, the sacrifices will be performed through trusted local partner organisations.
Serdar Şişman, Vice President of European Orphan Hand, shared details of the initiative in a statement to Ilke News Agency, highlighting the comprehensive scope of the project and its focus on adhering strictly to Islamic guidelines.
“As European Orphan Hand, we operate 12 months of the year with a strong focus on orphan support. Our ongoing work extends to countries such as Afghanistan, Yemen, Bangladesh, and across Asia and Africa. We carry out various development projects like mosque construction, winter clothing distribution, cataract surgeries, dairy goat donations, and water well construction,” Şişman said.
Şişman emphasized that the Qurban sacrifices will be performed in accordance with Islamic rules and under the supervision of veterinarians after thorough health checks of the animals.
“We’ve mobilized our volunteer teams and will dispatch them to countries where sacrifices will be made. The animals will be slaughtered according to Islamic procedures, under veterinary control, and the meat will be distributed to those in dire need,” he said. “We will also provide visual documentation of both the slaughter and the distribution process to our donors.”
Donors wishing to participate in the Qurban campaign can do so via European Orphan Hand’s official bank accounts, online platform, or by contacting the organisation's headquarters.
Şişman outlined the sacrifice prices designated for various regions, setting €100 for Africa, €150 for both Asia and the combined region of Yemen and Afghanistan, and €375 for Turkey and the Balkans.
“Wherever there are oppressed people and wherever we are called upon, we will deliver the Qurban meat to orphans and needy families, Inshallah,” Şişman concluded.
European Orphan Hand continues to grow its reputation as a dedicated humanitarian agency, particularly in conflict zones and regions with limited access to basic services. With the upcoming Eid al-Adha, the organisation aims to expand its charitable reach and bring joy and sustenance to thousands in need around the globe. (ILKHA)
