Israel orders mass evacuation of Gaza City amid renewed bombardment

The Israeli occupation army on Tuesday issued urgent military orders demanding the immediate evacuation of Gaza City residents, instructing civilians to flee south through the Rashid corridor.
The orders, coupled with an announcement of “large-scale” military operations in northern Gaza, have sparked alarm over the prospect of another humanitarian catastrophe and mass forced displacement.
The evacuation directive comes as Israeli forces intensified their assault across the besieged Strip, unleashing relentless artillery and airstrikes on civilian neighborhoods and infrastructure. At dawn, Israeli artillery units targeted central Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, while drones opened fire on homes, spreading panic among families. Heavy bombardments also pummeled residential areas in northern and central Gaza, reducing entire neighborhoods to rubble and displacing countless families.
In one of the most harrowing incidents of the day, Israeli warplanes struck an apartment building near the al-Qawqa roundabout in the crowded al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City. Local sources reported multiple injuries, with ambulance crews rushing victims to hospitals amid chaotic scenes of destruction.
The escalating assault has further endangered Gaza’s 2.3 million residents, already reeling from months of siege, starvation, and displacement. Palestinian officials and human rights advocates strongly condemned the evacuation orders and intensified bombardment, describing them as part of Israel’s ongoing strategy of forced displacement and collective punishment.
“With nowhere safe to flee and critical infrastructure destroyed, the people of Gaza are being pushed into an ever-deepening humanitarian crisis,” one rights monitor warned, calling on the international community to urgently intervene.
Despite mounting global criticism, Israel continues its campaign of mass bombardment and forced expulsions, leaving Gaza’s civilians defenseless against one of the most brutal wars in recent history. (ILKHA)
