Israeli attacks kill nine Palestinians despite ceasefire deal

Nine Palestinian civilians were killed on Thursday in continued Israeli gunfire and shelling targeting multiple areas across the Gaza Strip, medical sources confirmed.
According to Gaza’s medical authorities, five bodies were transferred to Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, three to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, and one to Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis. The victims, who include men, women, and children, were among the latest casualties in a long-running Israeli offensive that has devastated the besieged territory.
Earlier on Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. The deal, intended to end the war on Gaza, calls for the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the entry of humanitarian aid, and the exchange of Palestinian prisoners. Despite the announcement, continued Israeli attacks highlight the precariousness of the situation and the urgent need for full compliance with the ceasefire.
Palestinian health officials stressed that attacks on civilians continue to claim lives even as diplomatic efforts for peace move forward. Local authorities and humanitarian organizations have called for immediate measures to protect civilians, facilitate aid delivery, and enforce the terms of the ceasefire.
The Gaza Strip remains under severe strain after years of siege and military aggression, with tens of thousands of Palestinians killed and injured, and widespread destruction to homes, hospitals, and schools. Observers warn that the continuation of attacks undermines efforts to establish a sustainable peace and prolongs the suffering of the Palestinian people. (ILKHA)
