Israeli bombardment kills 72 in Gaza in 24 hours

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that hospitals in the besieged enclave had received the bodies of 72 martyrs and treated 314 wounded in the past 24 hours as Israel’s relentless aggression shows no sign of abating.
The ministry reported that among the victims were 16 martyrs and 250 injured who had been targeted while seeking desperately needed humanitarian aid. This brings the total number of Palestinians martyred in aid-related incidents to 1,772, with more than 12,249 wounded – a grim testament to the deadly Israeli policy of targeting those searching for food and relief.
In addition to the bombing casualties, four more Palestinians – already weakened by the months-long siege – died from famine and malnutrition in the past 24 hours, highlighting the catastrophic humanitarian crisis engineered by Israel’s blockade.
Since March 18, 2025, the health ministry has documented 9,824 martyrs and 40,318 wounded from Israeli attacks. The overall death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 7, 2023, has now reached 61,330 martyrs, with 152,359 others injured.
Health officials stressed that these figures are incomplete, as many victims remain trapped beneath the rubble of destroyed homes or lie in the streets, unreachable due to Israel’s continuous bombardment and the blockade preventing rescue crews from accessing them.
International human rights advocates have repeatedly warned that the combination of targeted attacks on civilians, the destruction of vital infrastructure, and the starvation blockade constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity under international law. (ILKHA)
