Israeli forces continue devastating assaults in Jenin, over 700 homes damaged
Israeli occupation forces carried out new large-scale raids across Jenin city and the Jenin refugee camp on Monday, extending what has now become 315 consecutive days of military assaults, forced displacement, and widespread destruction across the governorate.
During the latest incursion, dozens of homes were demolished and civilian property severely damaged, adding to the already staggering toll on Palestinian families. Residents in multiple neighborhoods were forcibly removed from their homes as troops expanded operations deeper into residential areas.
In the southern village of Sile ed-Zuhr, numerous families received demolition orders, sparking fears of another wave of forced evictions. In the Cabiriyyat neighborhood, adjacent to the refugee camp, residents were forced out of their houses as military bulldozers and armored vehicles advanced through the area.
Inside the Jenin refugee camp itself, 24 more homes were destroyed during the latest assault. According to local authorities, more than 700 homes and buildings have now been partially or completely damaged since the start of Israel’s continuous operations — a level of devastation that has displaced thousands and created an intensifying humanitarian crisis.
Israeli forces also intensified pressure on surrounding towns.
• Qibatiya: A young man was detained as troops deployed infantry units and interrogated civilians.
• Ya’bed: Under siege for nearly a month, the town has seen private homes converted into military posts.
• Bir el-Basha & Sile el-Harithiyye: Raids included home searches accompanied by tear gas and stun grenades, leaving residents suffering from suffocation and trauma.
Local officials say the escalating harassment, movement restrictions, and repeated night raids are part of a systematic campaign to destabilize the governorate and isolate Jenin from the rest of the West Bank.
Since the beginning of the 315-day offensive, more than 69 Palestinians have been killed in Jenin city, the refugee camp, and surrounding villages. The figure includes four Palestinians killed by Palestinian Authority security forces during internal confrontations.
Community leaders warn that the relentless assault appears aimed at rendering the refugee camp uninhabitable, describing the strategy as a form of slow-motion displacement.
Despite the scale of destruction, residents say global reaction has been muted. Palestinian civil society groups have criticized what they describe as the international community’s “dangerous silence,” arguing that the lack of global accountability has emboldened Israel to intensify its raids.
Local families, many now homeless after repeated demolitions, are calling for urgent humanitarian aid and international protection.
As the raids continue into their 315th day with no signs of easing, Jenin remains at the center of one of the most destructive and prolonged Israeli military campaigns in the West Bank in recent years. (ILKHA)
