Israeli occupation forces carried out a fresh wave of mass arrests, detaining at least 30 Palestinians, including a child and former detainees, in the occupied West Bank over the past 24 hours, according to Palestinian human rights organizations.
In a joint statement, the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) condemned the latest escalation in Israeli raids, which targeted civilians across Tulkarm, Tubas, Hebron, Ramallah, Nablus, Qalqilya, and Jerusalem. The organizations reported that Israeli forces conducted violent house raids, subjected detainees and their families to physical assaults, intimidation, and humiliation, and engaged in widespread vandalism and destruction of Palestinian homes.
According to PPS and the Commission, the total number of Palestinians detained in the occupied West Bank since October 7 has surged to more than 11,000. This figure includes those kidnapped from their homes, seized at military checkpoints, or forced to surrender under coercion, as well as hostages taken by Israeli forces.
The mass detentions are part of Israel’s escalating campaign of repression against the Palestinian people, targeting activists, former prisoners, and civilians alike. Palestinian rights groups have consistently decried these detentions as part of Israel’s broader policy of collective punishment against the occupied population.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces continue their brutal military aggression against the cities of Tulkarm, Jenin, and Tubas, deploying heavy military reinforcements and forcing the displacement of hundreds of families under direct threat. The attacks, described by Palestinian officials as a form of ethnic cleansing, have led to severe humanitarian consequences as families are driven from their homes amid constant Israeli assaults.
Palestinian groups have called on the international community and human rights organizations to take urgent action to stop Israel’s escalating crimes against the Palestinian people, including its policy of mass arrests, home demolitions, and forced displacement. (ILKHA)
